This Christmas song about the baby Jesus was written by Mark Lowry (lyrics) and Buddy Greene (music) in 1984. It was first recorded in 1992 by Michael English on his debut album, and then country music artist Kathy Mattea recorded it for her 1993 Christmas album “Good News.” The version in the video below features Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd. Their recording hit #55 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts in 1997. Since then, a variety of other artists have also recorded it, including Clay Aiken and Reba McEntire.

Mary, Did You Know? Lyrics
Mary, did you know
that your baby boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Ooo Ooo Ooo

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your baby boy is heaven’s perfect lamb?
The sleeping child you’re holding is the Great I Am.
